beer can coffee table
Asking: $150 Reduced to $125
Condition: Not described
Dimensions: 41″ W x 31″ D x 18″ H

Thoughts: Would I ever allow this into my home? Probably Absolutely not. But I can’t deny that it’s got some kitchy vintage charm.

Lobster pot coffee table:
lobster pot coffee table
Asking: $100
Condition: Not described
Dimensions: 14.75″ H x 34.75″ W x 21″ D
Location: Alexandria, VA
Thoughts: While I’m generally not into themes, “nautical” is the one that can still win me over (must be because I was a New England baby). This guy could be very cool in the right nautical/coastal space.

Lighted/mirrored coffee table:

Asking: Part of a larger, $390 set that include the coffee table, a side table and a mirror
Condition: Not described
Dimensions: 41” W x 22″D x 17″ H
Location: Manassas, VA
Thoughts: If the cheesy oak was painted, these might look cool… maybe? Probably not, but I’m intrigued by them nonetheless. (OK, in all honesty, the only piece I’d actually consider from the set is the funky town mirror, so I might as well show that…)

Framed mirror/tiger* mural:
tiger mural mirror frame
Asking: $130
Condition: “The mirror that is supposed to be behind the doors was broken but getting a replacement is easy.”
Dimensions: 39″ wide x 69″ tall (HUGE!)
Location: Alexandria, VA
Thoughts: Finding a piece of art this size for this low a price is a pretty incredible deal in itself. Right now it’s built to be a standing piece, but as the seller points out, you could easily remove the base/feet, and hang it on your wall. I wouldn’t even care about replacing the mirror because the doors are so awesome, but getting a piece of mirror cut to size wouldn’t be that difficult or expensive.

*I promise that weird and/or wonderful Wednesday posts won’t always feature tiger-themed items. :P

My immediate needs are a desk and a coffee table. I’d also really like a new couch. Those are the three things I’m allowing myself to shop for right now. Unfortunately, I’m not having any luck yet. Also unfortunately, I keep finding myself distracted by cool things that aren’t on that list. Like these:

1960s bar cart:

Asking: $340 [No longer available]
Condition: Not described; looks fine in the photo, but it’s hard to tell.
Dimensions: 31″ high, 18.25″ deep,  28.5″ wide
Location: Somewhere in DC
Thoughts: Overpriced, thank goodness–otherwise I might have broken my rules and gone for it.

Check it out.

Round, eagle mirror:

Asking: $80 [No longer available]
Condition: Nice patina (that means it has imperfections, but it’s old, so it should)
Dimensions: 20″ in diameter, not counting the eagle
Location: Old Town Alexandria, VA
Thoughts: I like it. I don’t need it at all, but I like it a lot. (On second thought, maybe I do need it …)

Vintage black vanity:

Asking: $139
Condition: Solid and sturdy in beautiful vintage condition.
Dimensions: 40″ wide, 18″ deep,  30.5″ high
Location: Haymarket, VA (yeah, that’s super far, I know)
Thoughts: Is it just me or is the “Antiques” section dominating lately? This is three in a row, I think. Anyway, vanities used to seem old-fashioned to me, but they’ve grown on me lately (probably because of Bailey’s usage: here, here and here). The spindles on this one are uber-charming, and the black keeps it from being over-the-top feminine. I like.

A long, fun weekend means I’m not really prepared for you this morning. So here’s a random collection of things I found for under fifty bucks. Actually, they’re all $40 even. Enjoy without breaking the bank!

Oval mirror:

Asking: $40
Condition: Looks good; no mention of cracks
Dimensions: 33.5″ by 24.5″
Location: Capitol Hill, DC
Thoughts: I expect this will be gone within the next day or two.

Check it out.

Bamboo bar cart:

Asking: $40
Condition: Not described; looks fine
Dimensions: Not provided
Location: Oxon Hill, MD
Thoughts: Spray paint this glossy black, white or pretty much any fun color.

Check it out.

Ceramic dolphin table:

Asking: $40 (for both tables actually, but I’m focusing on the front one in the picture)
Condition: Not described; looks fine
Dimensions: 45″ long, 22″ wide, 15″ high (The base is 27″ from the tips of the dolphins’ noses to their tails.)
Location: Dale City, VA
Thoughts: How can you look at that and not smile? I really have no idea what kind of space this could work in–if any space at all–but for $40, it’s worth some experimentation.

Which of these mirrors would you say is the fairest?

Antique fish-eye mirror:

Asking: $75, or best offer [No longer available]
Condition: Looks good!
Dimensions: 30″ high, 22″ wide
Location: Alexandria, VA
Thoughts: Maybe I’m just partial to this because I’m a Navy brat, but I’m loving it. It’s not bad as is, but you could spray paint it white if you want this look.

Check it out.

Vintage mirror with matching console:

Asking: $350, for both pieces [No longer available]
Condition: Not described, but looks good
Dimensions: Not provided
Location: Reston, VA (same seller as yesterday’s red sofa)
Thoughts: I’m still on the fence about this one, but I think it could be kinda awesome. Or Golden Girls. One or the other. Again, spray paint might do wonders for it.

Check it out.

Faux bamboo mirror:

Asking: $200 [No longer available]
Condition: Not described, but looks good
Dimensions: 48″ high, 29.5″ wide
Location: Potomac, MD
Thoughts: The price seems a bit steep to me, but it is large. And I do love the bamboo detailing, as you might have guessed… Somehow, once again, I think spray paint could improve it. I swear I’m not usually one to suggest spray painting everything!
